Assam: LPG tanker en-route from Khanapara to Jorabat catches fire, major disaster averted

A major disaster was averted on October 8 after an LPG tanker that caught fire on National Highway 37, was promptly doused by the efforts of the fire fighters. The tanker suffered substantial damage in the fire during the early hours of Sunday morning.

Fortunately, due to the prompt action of the fire fighters a potential disaster was averted, thus saving the Khanapara area from the probable catastrophe.

The event occurred when the LPG tanker was travelling from Khanapara to Jorabat. Firefighters acted quickly to extinguish the flames, effectively confining the situation.

This tragedy highlights the need of emergency response teams in reducing such dangerous occurrences, as well as the need for strong safety precautions in the transportation of combustible goods.
