3 Held for Extortion Activities in Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang

Changlang, January 9, 2020:

Police have arrested three individuals for carrying out extortion activities in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

The three, identified as Chow Ong Singpho (27), Wamu Mossang (34) and Onglat Singpho (28), were arrested for their involvement in extortion activities at a local market.

Police said that they had carried out a search operation based on the information about some miscreants extorting money from the shopkeepers.

SDPO Tasi Darang informed that the team comprising Inspector Ege Ete, SI Jano Aran, and Constables Bikram Chetry, Miaong Singpho, T Jongsam and MN Tikhak, have recovered a suspected AK magazine along with nine live rounds of ammunition from the three extortionists.

Several pieces of paper containing contact numbers, and two ‘Eastern Naga Army’ badges were recovered from the trio’s possession.

A case has been registered against the three under relevant sections of the Arms Act and the IPC.
