Arunachal CM determined to make the state “a film maker’s delight”

Guwahati, June 15, 2019:

To make Arunachal Pradesh “a film maker’s delight”, Chief Minister Pema Khandu chaired a round table meeting with the representatives of the media and entertainment industry of the country.

This included renowned producers and directors from Bollywood to promote Arunachal as a prominent destination for film, television, and media.

Speaking on the occasion, in the event- ‘Lights Camera Arunachal’, CM Khandu said, “Arunachal has everything to offer for film making. The state is gifted with beautiful landscape, beautiful river streams, snow-capped peaks, diverse colourful tribes and hospitable people assuring great filming delight.”

He mentioned that the state government is keen to extend full cooperation in terms of logistics, transportation and in meeting any needs of the filmmakers during the course of their filming.

He assured that the Chief Ministers Office will be directly in touch with the filmmakers as ‘single point of contact’ for any issues.”

Pema Khandu took it to his social media platform and tweeted:

“To understand the needs and the issues of filmmakers and media personalities for filming in Arunachal chaired a round table meeting 'Lights Camera Arunachal' today at Mumbai with the representatives of the industry. We promise to make Arunachal - a filmmakers delight!”

Khandu also met Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and Suniel Shetty to shared ideas on promoting local talents from Arunachal Pradesh and also discussed on creating job opportunities in the entertainment industry.

The CM mentions that films like Koyla and Rangoon were shot in Arunachal Pradesh. He also added that Film and Television Institute of India is also coming up that would provide local skilled manpower to supplement the needs of the filmmakers.

A 3-day orientation programme was held at Mumbai, co-hosted by the Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini. The meeting was attended by Speaker Passang Dorjee Sona and Member of Parliament Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe and renowned personalities from Bollywood Imtiaz Ali, Anu Malik, and others.
