In yet another incident of attack on Arunachali vehicles passing through Assam, a Winger passenger vehicle plying between Itanagar and Pasighat was attacked by some people at Dhemaji town market of Assam on the National Highway on Monday evening.
The Winger was headed from Itanagar towards Pasighat in the morning when some persons attacked the Winger driver and also damaged a portion of the window for no valid reason, informed a passenger in the vehicle.
The reason is said to be for simply blowing of the horn as Dhemaji market is often jammed.

After being aware of this incident, the Adi Mising Baane Kebang (AMBK) swung into action and appealed the Assam wing of Takam Mising Porin Kebang (TMPK), which initiated steps in connection with the case and later, Dhemaji police escorted the passenger vehicle up to Jonai near Assam-Arunachal boundary as a safety step.
The Adi Mising Baane Kebang, Adi Baane Kebang, Takam Mising Porin Kebang, All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union and other organizations have strongly condemned the incident by saying that people of Arunachal are often targeted in Assam.
These attacks need to be stopped, said the various organizations.
Meanwhile, All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union General Secretary, Tobom Dai has vehemently condemned the incident. "This is inhuman and a senseless act of goodaism. There is a limit to tolerance...recent incident of Bogibeel, Dibrugarh mayhem is still not over yet another incident has surface targeting Arunachal people. Request AASU, TMPK, and other elite organization to sensitize people on the age-old bonhomie and relationship between Arunachal Assam otherwise the day are not far repercussions may come up in Arunachal as well. AAPSU will be calling on both the state governments to immediately book the culprit otherwise will be compelled to agitate for the want of justice", said Dai.
Meanwhile, two persons of Moran and Deori community were arrested today by Dhemaji police in connection with the case and more persons are likely to be arrested, informed Okom Yosung, Secretary-General of AMBK and ABK who is continuously monitoring the case by engaging TMPK of Assam to lead the case so as to make the culprits get arrested soon.
On the other side, the team TMPK led by Dhemaji Unit President, Harichandra Kaman and Secretary, Dharmendra Noroh met Superintendent of Police, Dhemaji this afternoon and submitted a petition for early arrest of the all responsible persons in the attack of the passenger vehicle of Arunachal.
