Arunachal: Naharlagun Locals Demand Justice for Man Killed During Mob Violence

Naharlagun, October 9, 2019:

Around 1,000 protestors gathered outside Arunachal Pradesh’s mini Secretariat today to seek justice for a man, Dinesh Sahani, who was beaten to death following a vehicle collision in Naharlagun.

Businessmen, market community members, and others united to stage the protest outside the Secretariat to demand justice for the deceased.

On Tuesday, a man named Dinesh Sahani was brutally beaten up by a mob after a car accident in Naharlagun. He was seated in the car when it met with an accident. He was brutally attacked by a mob right after the incident and finally succumbed to his injuries.

“A group of people just attacked Sahani. He was not even the driver. He was just seated at the back. We demand justice for Sahani as it was not his fault,” said one of the protestors. He added that the protestors demand the execution of the people who had killed the man.

The Naharlagun Market Committee also extended its support to the cause and all shops remained closed in protest of the gruesome attack.

Dinesh Sahani was a 21-year-old youth who was employed as a daily wage earner in a local wine factory.
