The former Minister Jarkar Gamlin was allegedly attacked by a mob led by Nyamo Karbak brother of BJP candidate for 27-Liromoba, Nyamar Karbak. It may be mentioned that Jarkar’s brother Jarpum will be contesting from the same constituency on a National People’s Party (NPP) ticket.

Jarkar and his wife were allegedly attacked by a mob on Monday at around 10:30 pm while at Kamba under West Siang district. The mob reportedly assaulted Jarkar’s driver and damaged the car.

Jarkar’s younger brother, Jarpum, condemned the attack on social media: “I strongly condemn the mob-attack on my elder brother/former Minister Jarkar Gamlin who went over to a relative’s house at Kamba for dinner.”

Efforts are on to nab the culprits behind the incident.

It may be mentioned that both Jarpum and Jarkar defected to the NPP party after they were denied tickets to contest the ensuing Assembly elections in the frontier state by the BJP leadership.
