While refuting the accusation of land encroachment by executive engineer, Pasighat Electrical Division, the East Siang Deputy Commissioner has clarified that, he has not encroached department of power’s land as quoted in the complaint letter to secretary land management for its cancellation.

The office of the executive engineer, Pasighat Electrical Division in a letter to Secretary Land Management has appealed for cancelation of land allotment order issued to the East Siang Deputy Commissioner terming that the well-demarcated land with boundary wall behind the official residence of the executive engineer in the Officer’s Colony here has been encroached by the deputy commissioner.

However, when asked about the encroachment and his involvement as alleged by the executive engineer power, Deputy Commissioner, Tamiyo Tatak refuted the accusation and said that, there was no boundary wall nor there had any fencing at the time of occupation of the said plot of land which was earlier possessed by one Tanong Tatak who had grown Banana in the plot way back in 2005. DC Tatak further clarified that, his allotted plot of land does not obstruct or encroached any land allotted to any department including the Department of Power till today. “The allotment of said plot of land was done on the strength of a judgement from the Hon’ble High Court, Guwahati vide Case No. WP (C)165/2011, date of order 18/05/2011”, added Tatak while further quoting that, the district administration had issued notice to every department to obtain or apply land allotment to their respective premises, but no application came from the DoP.

As per the High Court ruling, the eviction drive at Tatak’s possessed plot of land (now allotted to him) was stayed and status quo was asked to be maintained while directing petitioner Tatak to re-apply the land allotment through fresh application within 15 days while placing the same before the concern District Land Allotment Advisory Board (DLAAB). And as per Tatak there were some people behind the scene who played all the game right from the beginning, whereas other government land in and around the same location were already allotted to some other officials. “I didn’t do anything wrong and I am ready to face any enquiry if there any or I invite one, I will show them the all the relevant papers and will furnish all information”, quoted Tatak boldly.

Meanwhile, when asked for his stance and accusation, Er. Joram Lali, former EE Power who has been recently transferred to Itanagar told this reporter that, whatever he has written to Secretary Land Management is to protect the government land. “If DC Tatak had genuine intention, he should have given suo-moto allotment of the said land to the DoP even if we didn’t apply, but the Dy. Commissioner perhaps had other intention. As a head of the DoP it was mandatory for me as an officer or officials whoever in the helm of affairs to protect the government/department assets”, said Er. Lali while further clarifying that, he didn’t begged apology from Dy. Commissioner for doing his duty.
