Tightening the noose around the drug peddlers, the Lower Dibang Valley District Police has on Thursday arrested a drug peddler and addict Eko Meto, who was allegedly extorting money from engineers and cattle sheds in Roing.
The team comprising of Town Magistrate Sanjay Taram (CO), Deputy Supperintendent of Police Opir Paton, Inspectors Satyajit Paul, Abraham Taying, Padi Nikang and Mongol Koyu raided the house where the accused Eko Meto was taking shelter. He was apprehended with two packets containing pink cocaine like substance weighing 3.60 grams, 8.6 grams of cannabis and a Kukhri (dao) in his possession.
A manhunt is on for the co-peddler of the accused. A case (No. 23/2018) U/S 22(b)/27(a) of NDPS Act has been registered at Roing PS and an investigation launched.
