ITANAGAR: Dr. Devansh Yadav, Changlang Deputy Commissioner has formed a sub-divisional level settlement areas monitoring committee to prove and identify the current ground situation of the Chakma and Hajong refugee settlement areas in Miao subdivision in Arunachal Pradesh.
The Miao ADC, the DLRSO, the Jairampur DFO, the Diyun RFO and the Miao ZPM make up the committee.
Two public leaders and two representatives from community-based local organizations will be nominated by ADC as the members.

The committee will map out the Chakma and Hajong settlement areas in Miao subdivision and compare them to government-approved settlements on the DLRSO's list.
The DLRSO will provide the list by July 15 and the mapping is directed to be finished by August 31.
According to sources, the committee will discuss the current problematic and unorganized settlements and recommend a system for fixing issues in order to protect forest areas and maintain communal peace.
Any unauthorized resettlements will be reported to the deputy commissioner and flood-affected families will be resettled in a systematic way.
The committee will also propose protected regions for crucial water catchment locations under the Jhum Land Regulation Act, 1947.
