ARUNACHAL PRADESH: SUMAA EAST SIANG PLEADS FOR RE-CONSTITUTION OF COMMITTEE TO CHECK ROAD EQUALITY

While showing dissatisfaction over non-inclusion of representatives from Legong and Ramle Banggo in the board constituted to check the quality of repairing work carried out on Pasighat-Ledum-Tene road and also for serving the copy of inspection of the road to SUMAA( Student's United Movement Of All Arunachal Pradesh) lately, the SUMAA East Siang urged DC, Pasighat to re-constitute a Board for fair and actual ground inspection of the road.

The Students’ United Movement of All Arunachal East Siang Unit led by General Secretary, Redong Pertin has alleged that, they received their copy of the inspection of board to check road quality of repairing work along Pasighat-Tene-Ledum road from Yagrung Kangkong gate to Remi Bridge on the day of visit. “The board constitution order was issued on 27th April 2018 and we received our copy of the order on 1st May 2018 after the board member made the inspection. Moreover, representatives from Legong and Ramble Banggo like Mirem, Bilat, Ledum villages etc should have been involved in the board as they are the one actually affected”, said Pertin.

The union to this regard has also lodged a protest in front of the office of Executive Engineer, PWD, Pasighat and office of Dy. Commissioner on Friday seeking re-constitution of a board to check the quality repairing. The union leaders were also disappointed over the reaction of EE, PWD who is said to have stated that, he would dig out/undo the repaird/constructed road if protest continues like this, informed SUMAA team. The union also slammed at the behaviours of PRI members who had shown support to the department concern and has said that, the road construction/repairing was ok.

Earlier during the day, ZPM Oyar Taloh and ASM Tapu Darang from those areas had informed and stated this scribe that, the said repairing work was all ok and the union was making unnecessary complaint. But they failed to give their supporting statements in writing neither to DC Pasighat nor to media.  But team SUMAA has termed PRI members’ supporting to the poor road repairing as very unfortunate despite seeing the ground reality.

Meanwhile, when contacted, ADC (HQ) cum Chairman of the board, Tatdo Borang said that, his team visited the said stretches of the road and found some lapses of poor work. “I have clearly instructed the concern department and contractor to re-do the work after monsoon while maintaining quality work. However, with the request of SUMAA we haven’t made the report public. And the request for re-constitution of fresh board will be sent to DC who will decide upon it”, added Borang.
