Arunachal Sets up Lokayukta to Fight 'Corruption'

Itanagar, June 27, 2019:

Arunachal Pradesh has now got its 'Lokayukta' to deal with the problem of corruption in the State!

Arunachal Pradesh Chief minister Pema Khandu, while talking to mediapersons, said that Arunachal has got a bad reputation as one of the most corrupt states in past, but now as Lokayukta is implemented and chairperson and members are being appointed, all the NGOs , government officers and bureaucrats (including the common public) will have to fear before indulging in any kind of corruption.

"With this step, Arunachal Pradesh will step forward into a new era of development, eradicating unemployment and increasing standard of life for all", Khandu said.

It may be mentioned that Justice P.K. Saikia, former Judge of Gauhati High Court was sworn-in as the Chairperson, Lokayukta, Arunachal Pradesh in an impressive function in the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Itanagar today.

Shri Yeshi Tsering IAS (Retd.) was also sworn-in as its member on the occasion.

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) administered the Oath of Office to the Chairperson and member of Lokayukta, Arunachal Pradesh.

Wife of Governor B D Mishra, Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Cabinet Ministers, former Chief Minister, Nabum Tuki, senior officers and many other officials were present on the occasion.
