While responding to the claims of the viral video, Itanagar Capital Region SP, Rohit Rajbir Singh, said that the viral video is not from the Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy. Here, the SP said that a separate incident of fight among the boys did take place at the school and an enquiry has been initiated into the matter. However, he did not call it an incident of ragging.
"Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy falls under the Chimpu police station. The SDPO went there and met the academy director. It has been found that the viral video is not of Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy. There was an incident of a fight in the school yesterday evening between students from different classes. Some seniors assaulted the juniors. The medical test of the students is being conducted. Legal action will be taken on the basis of the medical test report and the complaints by the parents or guardians. Members of the Child Welfare Committee have also come and they are taking statements from the students. The parents of the students are also there, talking to the police and the school authorities. We have also talked to the district administration, and they shall intervene wherever is required," said the Itanagar Capital Region SP.
The Itanagar Capital Region SP further clarified that the viral video and the incident at the Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy are not connected in any way.
Meanwhile, concerned parents protested in Sangay Laden Sports Academy of Itanagar capital of Arunachal Pradesh when a viral video showing a junior beaten up mercilessly went viral.
The school authorities denied saying the video is not of that particular sports school but it unearthed the ragging bullying inside the boy's hostel as many students came forward admitting the bullying by seniors and showed their swollen blue body parts confirming the bullying going on inside the sports academy.
According to parents many children were found bruised, swelling of arms, legs and genitals. "School employees didn't intervene or do anything and due to fear these students never revealed the incidents to anyone. Injustice happens at this school very often." One of the parents alleged.
Tadar Apa, the director of Sangay Laden Sports Academy talking exclusively to India Today denied the authenticity of the video and stated that it's not of this sports school.
"The bullying incident never came into our knowledge as no one ever came forward and informed us. I used to stay inside the academy and this incident is condemnable. Some students were found with swelling legs and all, we will take strict action and find out the involvement of the students who physically abused the juniors. "
However, while inspecting the academy, it was found that althought the viral video was not from the academy, instances of ragging came out to the fore.
Following this the management decided to bring out the accused to the light and provide justice to the students.
