While marking a historic day for this frontier state of Arunachal Pradesh, Alliance Air, ATR -42 has landed here at Pasighat Airport on Monday in a proving test flight of non commercial aircraft which will pave the ways for operation of commercial flights shortly.
The team along with crew members led by Vikash Sharma, Chief of Flight Safety, Alliance Air and flight Inspector, DGCA, N.S. Lohan was accorded warm welcome by local MLA-cum-Parliamentary Secretary for Disaster Management, Kaling Moyong including Director, Civil Aviation, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Tamuna Messar, DC East Siang, Tamiyo Tatak and SP East Siang, Prashant Gautam among others on the occasion.
Speaking to media, Flight Inspector, DGCA , Captain N.S. Lohan said that, runways and infrastructures in the terminal building all are all very good. “It was a lovely flight to Pasighat, we are really proud that we are making history, people of Arunachal are really going to enjoy Alliance Air and very shortly the commercial flights will start services which will connect Pasighat to mainland air connectivity”, added Lohan and T. K. Saha, coordinator Alliance Air. The commercial flights will start operating from Pasighat shortly after completion of formalities of submission of reports by the team. Scheduled flights will begin operating soon after the clearance, the officials said here today.
While welcoming the team members, Local MLA, Kaling Moyong expressed his happiness on the successful test flight to Pasighat Airport and said that, the long felt demand for operation of passenger flights has taken shape with the inaugural flight. “This is really a historic moment for the people of the state and I would like to thank Chief Minister, Pema Khandu, MoS Home, GoI, Kiren Rijiju for their helping hand to operationalize the services” added Moyong who also asked the concerned department for time bound completion of Administrative Building of Airlines for Station Manager, Engineering Wing and Stock Room. The MLA also requested for additional operation of Pasighat – Dibrugarh – Guwahati flight service on need basis and at the same time appealed people of Pasighat to have more hospitality towards visitors to Pasighat.
Director, Civil Aviation, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Tamuna Messar who is also said to have played a major role in materialization of commercial flight from Pasighat after assuming the office during last December, was also seen hectically coordinating the officials and staffs from DGCA and Alliance Airlines on ground who was also seemingly happy for the successful proving test landing. “I am happy that from now on the entire middle Arunachal district including parts of North Assam will get air connectivity to the rest of the country”, added Messar. DC Pasighat, Tamiyo Tatak who presented traditional Adi Galuk (shirt/coat) and Tapet (muffler) to the visiting from East Siang District Administration’s side also expressed deep happiness over the successful test landing.
Under Regional connectivity Scheme (RCS) ,Udaan Scheme, Ministry of Civil Aviation, GoI. Alliance Air has been awarded route from Kolkata to Pasighat via Guwahati. Zoom Air & True Jet has been allotted for Tezu Airport. Zoom Air and True Jet will also fly to Tezu via Pasighat and is expected to start in August, 2018.
Udaan (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik), for boosting regional connectivity has been launched by the Central Government with stated objective of “Let the common citizen of the country fly” to make air travel affordable & widespread and boost inclusive economic & job growth and air transport infrastructure development of all regions and state of India. This will also boost tourist inflow to the region.
