Arunachal's Chowna Mein becomes India's longest-serving deputy CM

Arunachal Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has achieved a historic milestone, becoming the longest-serving incumbent Deputy Chief Minister in India. 

Having assumed office on July 17, 2016, Mein has now completed 8 years and 244 days in the role, cementing his legacy as one of the most enduring political leaders in the country.

The milestone was widely recognized across Arunachal Pradesh, with leaders, colleagues, and citizens acknowledging his contributions to the state's development. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Arunachal Pradesh unit congratulated him, stating, “Your leadership has been a beacon of hope and progress for Arunachal, and your tireless work continues to inspire us.” Many other political figures and social organizations also extended their appreciation for his long and impactful tenure.
