A statue of Assam’s legendary singer-composer Bhupen Hazarika has been unveiled in Lower Diband Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday in the presence of the state’s Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Assam’s Power Minister Tapan Gogoi.
The 10 feet eight inches tall bronze sculpture which is being christened 'Statue of Brotherhood', is an art work of Guwahati sculptor Bhaskar Biren Singh.
The land for the statue was donated by the family members of Hazarika’s childhood friend Gora Pertin.Rs.30 lakh had been allocated by the state government of Arunachal Pradesh for building the staute.
