An earthquake of 3.7 magnitude on the richter scale hit Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh early on Monday. The earthquake hit the district at 3.36 am. However, no case of casualty or damage have been reported so far.
It may be mentioned that an earthquake of 3.0 magnitude on the richter scale hit Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh on August 6. However, it too did not cause any damage.
It may be mentioned that the northeastern region falls under the seismic 5 zone. Occurrence of earthquake is a common phenomenon in the region.
