Guwahati, September 7, 2019:

A 2011-batch IAS officer, Kashish Mittal, has reportedly resigned after he was posted to frontier state Arunachal Pradesh, ThePrint has reported.

According to the reports, Mittal was an AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territory)-cadre IAS officer, who was posted as additional principal secretary to NITI Aayog vice-chairman Rajiv Kumar.

He reportedly forwarded his resignation after being transferred to Arunachal Pradesh, which he was unhappy with.

A source told ThePrint that he resigned as he thought the decision to transfer him to Arunachal Pradesh was "unfair".

In 2016, when Mittal was being transferred from Chandigarh, he filed a petition in the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), challenging his transfer.

Mittal is a computer engineer from IIT-Delhi and is also a renowned Hindustani classical musician.
