Itanagar, July 9, 2019:

The inspiring women of the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) have proven that 'girl power' still reigns supreme an all-women team of the unit have undertaken a patrol along the highly sensitive Indo-China border for the very first time!

On July 8, in an unprecedented move, the women successfully patrolled a most sensitive and strategically important pass at Indo-China border somewhere in Arunachal Pradesh.

It has been reported that the special patrol was led by Ms. Bhanita Timungpi, Assistant Commandant along with a female Sub-Inspector and some female constables.

ITBP General duty Mahila have been participating almost in all operational duties

alongside their male counterpart along 3488 km of Indo China border.

It may be mentioned that this is for the first time that any ‘mahila’ officer has led a special ‘mahila’ patrol with a focus to keep vigil along the border and also to achieve maximum efficiency while operating at high-altitude areas like the volatile Indo-Arunachal border areas.

With this patrol, ITBP’s women personnel have once again proved that they are second to none! Hats off to these ladies!
