Itanagar, May 11, 2019:

The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Capital Complex Talom Dupak and Sangeeta Yirang, Sub Division Officer (S) Capital Complex have been appointed to conduct Magisterial Inquiry into the incident of 3 youths losing their lives during the PRC protests in Arunachal which were held during February early this year.

While ADC Talom Dupak will conduct an inquiry on the death of Late Tsering Wangdi and Late Biki Ruja, the SDO Sangeeta Yirang will inquire on the death of Late Risso Tari.

Meanwhile, both the magistrates in the circular No. No DC/ICC/JUD-28/2019 have already appealed all the relatives of the deceased, eyewitnesses, victims and public having information/video footage of the circumstances leading to their death to appear at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, capital complex, Itanagar for recording of their deposition w.e.f 13 to 17 May, 2019 during office hours.

The state government on March last had announced a judicial probe headed by a retired judge into the large scale rioting, violence, and vandalism during the PRC protest that left three people dead. Arunachal chief minister Pema Khandu had said earlier that the justice would be delivered to the bereaved families and the people responsible for unleashing the violence would be brought to book.

It is to be noted that the protest on PRC issue was reported to be politically motivated. The result of enquiry is expected to uncover who is behind the heinous crime.
