MP Ninong Ering in a letter apprised the Union Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha about the “poor” BSNL Network in his various locations in Arunachal Pradesh.
He said it is further affected by disturbances caused due to optical fiber networks by road expansion works under Trans Arunachal Highways (TAH) and other projects. Therefore he requested for an alternative model of telecom connectivity like Microwave networks and satellite systems in the areas, under the vision of Digital India.
He further added that all Telecom Service Providers(TSP) including BSNL need to increase bandwidth 6 GHz microwave systems and quality telecom services in remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh.
He requested to consider waiving off spectrum charges of 6 GHz/7 GHz microwave systems and satellite systems to improve telecom projects, till TAH and 2 lane/ 4 lane projects are completed in the state.
