NSCN-R Militant Slain by Indian Army in Changlang

Changlang, December 2, 2019:

The Indian armed forces gunned down a hardcore Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim, Reformation (NSCN-R) insurgent, after a firefight that took place in Shallang area of Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh on November 30.

Operating on specific Intelligence about the presence of armed cadres in the District, Security forces launched a swift operation in the area against the NSCN-R cadres operating in the region.

During search operations, the troops came under fire from the cadres and in retaliatory fire, one insurgent was killed who was later was identified as Self Styled Major Akham Chang. Chang was an operational commander of NSCN-R in Changlang District.

One AK series rifle with huge quantity of ammunition and other war like stores, were recovered from the slain insurgent.
