New Delhi, May 30, 2019:

Northeast's new 'dynamic duo' -- Rameswar Teli and Kiren Rijiju -- have taken the oath of office and secrecy in the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Thursday in the grand ceremony attended by the who's who of industry and polity.

Rameshwar Teli, who has been elected as MP for the second consecutive term from Dibrugarh parliamentary constituency after a comprehensive won over Paban Singh Ghatowar of the Congress, took the oath of office and secrecy in the grand oath-taking ceremony held in the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhawan on May 30th, 2019. Teli is known for working closely with the tea community of Assam.

Kiren Rijiju, meanwhile, won the election from the Arunachal West Lok Sabha Constituency. Rijiju, during the last five years, served as Union Minister of State for Home Affairs.

He defeated Congress candidate and two times former chief minister Nabam Tuki with a huge margin of 1,67,132 votes.

The BJP won with an absolutely majority for the first time in the frontier state as they won both the Lok Sabha seats as well as 41 of the 60 Assembly seats.
