Arunachal enforces stringent penalties to combat exam paper leaks

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu addressed the media today at the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, unveiling new legislative measures aimed at tackling the persistent issue of paper leakage in public examinations. The newly enacted law introduces severe penalties, including a fine of up to Rs 1 crore and imprisonment for up to 10 years for those found guilty. The legislation also outlines penalties for examinees involved in such malpractices.

CM Khandu stated the importance of the Act in addressing and curbing examination fraud. “This Act includes stringent provisions such as hefty fines and extended jail terms. It is designed to deter malpractices and ensure the integrity of public examinations. We will also consider further recommendations to strengthen the Act, incorporating feedback from the Advocate General,” he stated.

Khandu also highlighted the broader impact of the state’s budget allocations on key sectors such as education, health, and sports. He noted that investments in these areas, though often taking time to manifest, have led to significant improvements. “In education, we are witnessing new reforms, the creation of new posts, and the development of vibrant infrastructures. Similarly, advancements in health services include the introduction of new equipment, hospitals, and medical staff. Over my eight-year tenure, I have seen our athletes achieve remarkable success at national and international levels, bringing pride and recognition to our state,” he added.
