SIVASAGAR: GP Singh, the Additional Director General of Police, Assam (ADGP), law and order, today confirmed that the ULFA(I) is responsible for the kidnapping of 3 ONGC employees.
Singh today visited the Lakuwa abduction scene in Assam's Sivasagar district today to investigate the kidnapping of the three ONGC employees.
“We have identified the (United Liberation Front of Assam) ULFA-I cadres who could have a hand in this, as well as a number of underground personnel,” Singh stated.
Singh stated that there can be two reasons behind the kidnapping — ransom demand and the sowing of discord in Assam.

Singh stated that the ULFA(I) will not be allowed to succeed in its agenda.
He also informed that the police have so fararrested three persons on suspicion of involvement in the abduction.
Three ONGC employees identified as–Mohini Mohan Gogoi (Junior Engineering Assistant), Ritil Saikia (Junior Engineering Assistant), and Alokesh Saikia(Junior Engineering) were kidnapped yesterday morning around 3 am from Romonia Workover RIG in the Lakuwa area under Sivasagar district.
They were taken by the miscreants in an operational vehicle belonging to ONGC. Later, the vehicle was found abandoned near the Nimonagarh jungles close to the Assam-Nagaland border.
