GUWAHATI: Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) candidate Chittaranjan Basumatary and Congress candidate Ramen Borthakura and many other candidates from newly floated regional political parties will contest against the powerful leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Himanta Biswa Sarma from the Jalukbari constituency in the Assam assembly elections.
Besides AJP’s Chittaranjan Basumatary and Congress’s Ramen Borthakur, candidates from other parties, or independent candidates will contest against Sharma.

Jalukbari will go to the polls in the third phase on April 6.
It may be mention that apart from the BJP no other party has a strong organisational presence in the Jalukbari constituency.
In Jalukbari, Sarma is in a tight grip, who has done a commendable job and it is no surprise that till date no one has come forward to contest from this seat.
