12 hours bandh called by AASU on Jan 8

Guwahati, January 5, 2019:

The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has called for 12 hours bandh on January 8 (Tuesday) against the amendment of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The announcement has been made on Saturday.

It may be mentioned that the All Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union has also called for 12- hours bandh on the same day.

The announcement of amendment of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 has created an imbalance in the mind set of the Asomiya people following which protests has been staged across the state while many has threatened the government to undergo self immolation if the bill gets passed in the Parliament.
