At least 300 residential structures, highly prone to landslides in Guwahati, will be served with notices by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) so that the owners or residents of these houses be ready to face possible calamities.
The decision was made on Friday after a massive landslide occurred near te residence of two-time former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta of the Asom Gana Parishad at Kharguli. Following the incident, a house was seen ‘hanging’ on a cliff.
The ASDMA snapped all electric wires that were connected to the building.
