5 Rohingyas arrested at Guwahati Railway Station

Guwahati, May 14, 2019:

A team of the Railway Police Force (RPF) of Guwahati railway station on Tuesday apprehended suspected Rohingya refugees from platform no. 1 while they are preparing to depart to national capital Delhi.

According to official reports, they were traveling from Manipur. The team seized some quantity of cigarettes, coffee packets, etc. from their possession.

The suspected Rohingya refugees have been identified as Arofa, Zuber, Kamal Hussain, Nurul Hakim, and Kalimulla.

The arrested individuals have been handed over to Guwahati GRPS for follow up action and a case under the Foreigners Act is being registered and investigated.
