8 lakh divyangs to boycott Panchayat Elections

Guwahati, November 15, 2018:

Nearly eight lakh divyangs have decided to boycott the upcoming panchayat elections in Assam as announced by the Pratibandhi Suraksha Macha on Wednesday.

Reportedly the Mancha took the decision after the working BJP government failed to fulfil the promises it made before the election.

The Manch said it was not satisfied with the present pension scheme given by the BJP government. It also expressed their resentment over the denial of the pension of Rs 5,000 that was given by the last government.

Moreover it demanded the announced pension of Rs 1,000 promised since the month of April of this year.
