Activists of the All Adivasi Students’ Association of Assam (AASAA) staged a three-hour dharna in Bogapani Tea Estate in Tinsukia district’s Digboi on Saturday.
The protestors demanded medical treatment for Kalyan Churin, who was injured after being allegedly hit by a vehicle of the tea estate, besides stopping child labour in the estate.
The protestors alleged that authorities of the tea estate had appointed drivers without valid licences.
They also demanded more vehicles for transportation of students studying in the primary school of the tea estate, besides ensuring that they are provided midday regularly by the school authorities.
