Jailed Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) president Akhil Gogoi on Thursday all indigenous parties to come together to fight against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Talking to media persons, Gogoi  said that he was surprised at All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) and Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) for  not taking on those lines yet. He informed that the AJYCP’s role has been more surprising for him. On contesting the 2021 Assam assembly elections Gogoi said that he would need the permission of his mother, wife, son and party.

Gogoi on Monday had said that opposition forces will have to unite against Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019. Gogoi stated, “Every opposing force should unite for the fight against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), 2019.”

Gogoi reiterated that the AASU forming political party will not serve purpose. He added that everyone should participate under a single party, symbol and flag.

Gogoi also appealed to the people to continue their fight against CAA or else the Assamese community will be over. He opined that if all unite together, existing Assam politics will be in turmoil. Gogoi urged not to make political decisions for personal gains.
