Dibrugarh, February 29, 2020:

Continuing its stand against the amendment of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) leaders have re-launched the agitation on a mass scale, this time in Dibrugarh in Upper Assam, in a self-professed 'Gandhian' way.

The leaders of the student organization, leading a mass of protesting Assamese, through the protest, wagged an accusatory finger at the Government, and said that it must roll back the controversial CAA at once.

The organization's 'second' CAA movement comes in the wake of discussions and deliberations that the student body's leaders participated in at Guwahati, at the end of which it was decided that the flames of fire against the CAA would burn bright once again.

Lurinjyoti Gogoi, the AASU General Secretary, who has become one of the leading figures ever since the enactment of the CAA, leading sea-like protests in Upper Assam, thundered once again at the protest venue in Dibrugarh.

Leading the people of Dibrugarh in chants and lending a fiery mood to the protest, that saw a mass participation of women, Lurinjyoti once again thundered, "We will continue the agitation in a non-violent way". The fiery leader also said that the andolan is being carried out in a Gandhian way.

Delhi and Dispur are "afraid" of the andolan, Lurin said, and added that the political "situation" must see a change if society is to see a change for the better. Lurin also said, on the behalf of the people, that the BJP Government will be uprooted from Assam by the people of the State.
