The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) president of the Paneri regional unit was attacked by two bike-borne miscreants on Thursday night.
According to Entajul Ali, president of AASU Paneri regional unit, the miscreants were travelling on a Bajaj Pulsar bike and fired shots on Ali's Bolero vehicle, as a result of which, the vehicle's windshield glass broke leading to minor injuries to the AASU leader and his acquaintance.
According to police, two unidentified bike-borne miscreants attacked a Bolero vehicle (bearing registration number AS12-T-2443) in which Entajul Ali, along with 3 of his friends, was returning from a relative’s place in Udalguri.
The incident was reported at Christenpara under Paneri police station in the Udalguri district.
The Superintendent of police, Udalguri, Ripul Das, said, “The complainant did not mention about any firing. It appears to be an incident of road rage as the Bolero had its headlights in the upper mode. This might have irked the bike-borne youths and the latter might have hurled stones on them.”
Meanwhile, the AASU leader has lodged an FIR in connection with the attack.
