Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president Atul Bora announced that for the greater interest of both parties, that is, to defeat the Congress, AGP has moved into an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Addressing the media, Atul Bora said, “We all know that the Congress has ruled the country for a long period of time after independence and from 2001, the Congress was in the reign. The people wanted to get rid of the corruption by the Congress party and so the AGP and BJP moved into an alliance.”
“There were differences between the two parties which we decided to sort out through dialogues. The BJP has equilibrium between all the communities like the Tiwa, Mishing etc. So with all of them together, we have to defeat the Congress party. We have a common point of interest, that is to defeat the Congress party, and for the greater interest, I request all the members of both the parties to maintain the alliance,” he added.
