Guwahati, 16 January 2019:

Son of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and Kaliabor MP Gaurav Gogoi on Wednesday said that he is doubtful about the stand Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) is taking against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

Speaking in Golaghat, Gaurav Gogoi made another controversial remark and said that AGP is working as BJP’s B-team and are working on their behest in Assam.

Although AGP and BJP have parted ways, as AGP decided to break their alliance following BJP’s adamant decision to impose the Citizenship Bill, Gogoi feels that their stand is still not clear and are showcasing dual standards over it.

It is worth mentioning that three senior BJP leaders, Atul Bora, Keshab Mahanta and Phani Bhushan Choudhury, immediately submitted their resignation to Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal after the bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on January 8. Interestingly, their resignations have not yet been accepted and the three minsters too fail to address this as people still believe that they are out of the cabinet and fighting for their Asomiya sentiments.

Speaking about the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls, the MP believes and has assured that Congress  will come out with flying colors and post a good show.
