AJYCP demands PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to Immediately repair Dilapidated Roads of Margherita

Margherita, September 19, 2019:

Asom Jatiyotabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) has demanded immediate repair of the Pather Gaon Lal Pahar road in Margherita.

AJYCP’s Tinsukia wing on Thursday submitted a memorandum to State PWD Minister demanding reconstruction of the dilapidated road under Lekhapani Gaon Panchayat of Margherita Constituency.

Working President, Lakhi Bora and General Secretary, Pranjal Pratim Neog said that even after 70 years of India’s independence, the rural and urban areas of 124 Number Margherita Constituency are in pathetic condition.

They added that neither four-time former Margherita MLA Pradyut Bordoloi nor present MLA Bhaskar Sharma have taken any initiative to construct the road through which school and college students, patients and general public travel daily.

Pranjal Pratim Neog questioned BJP’s failure in everything despite BJP’s rule at the Centre, State, and Gaon Panchayat.

He said, “State PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma said that all the rural and PWD roads of Assam will be constructed before the Assembly Elections but unfortunately three years have passed and nothing has changed. People residing in rural areas are still living in pathetic condition due to poor road connectivity.”

He further added, “We demand to State PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma to immediately repair the pather Gaon road or else AJYCP shall initiate a strong agitation programme at Margherita.”
