'Action superstar' Akshay Kumar has announced that he will be making a donation of a whopping sum of Rupees one crore (!) towards the 'rescue efforts' for the animals suffering due to the floods in Kaziranga National Park in Assam, which has been almost completely submerged.
Not only this, the big-hearted star has donated a further Rupees one crore to the Chief Minister's relief fund.
Saying that he is "heartbroken" to know about the devastation caused by the floods across 30 districts in the state, the Bollywood hunk has offered to donate a crore each for the rescue efforts at Kaziranga and also for the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, totalling a sum of Rupees two crores. Reason for the people of Assam to rejoice?

Following the backlash, she tweeted out in support of the flood victims of Assam and urged her fans to "donate", but she herself is yet to announce any donations for flood relief measures in the Northeastern state.
