BJP's candidate Queen Oja finds herself at the center of a controversy as shocking claims have been made about her. It has been alleged that the candidate provided 'false information' while submitting her nomination.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission will seek a report on Thursday from concerned authorities on the BJP candidate.
Meanwhile, Oja has alleged that the issue has been drummed up by the Congress because they are “losing in Guwahati.” Speaking exclusively tp InsideNE, she said: "All will be revealed tomorrow when the scrutiny takes place. Just wait and watch."
As per reports, a senior official of the EC had taken note of the allegations against Oja of giving ‘false information’ in her affidavit which was filed on Monday.
“We have decided to seek a report tomorrow from the district election officer on the issue,” he added. It is to be mentioned that Oja had stated her highest educational qualification as ‘Higher Secondary’ from Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University in the year 2011, but KKHSOU VC Hitesh Deka said that no open university in the country offers a higher secondary course.
The scrutiny will take place on April 5 while April 8 is the last date of withdrawal of candidature. Guwahati Constituency will head to the polls on April 23. Oja, the BJP candidate will be pitted against Congress' Bobbeeta Sharma and independent candidate Upamanyu Hazarika.
