Alleged Poacher to contest in Assam Panchayat Polls with Congress Ticket

Guwahati, November 17, 2018:
After the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), now the Congress has been alleged ofgiving candidature ticket to another accused poacher for the upcoming panchayat election in Assam.
As per reports the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee has given candidature ticket to an alleged “rhino poacher” Dilwar Hussain to contest for the presidential seat in Sowaguri Gaon Panchayat in Biswanath.
Hussain was arrested earlier on charges of rhino poaching in Bagori range in Kaziranga National Park. He was out on bail but his case is still running at the court.
However, this issue has brought criticism towards the Congress as well.
It may be mentioned, that earlier AGP gave a ticket to another alleged poacher, Ganesh Doley.
Following this, it was said that the AGP has hired a poacher to protect elephants.
