GUWAHATI: Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Shah will make his fifth visit to poll-bound Assam on March 22. During his one day visit to the state, Shah is scheduled to address three mega rallies in Silapathar, Majuli and Udalguri.
Shah will attend his first public meeting at Silapathar in Dhemaji district followed by another rally at Majuli for Chief Minister and BJP candidate for Majuli Sarbananda Sonowal.
Later in the day, Shah will address a public meeting at Nalbari playground in Udalguri town. Shah will be on a campaigning trail in the district for United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) Udalguri candidate Gobinda Chandra Basumatary, BJP Panery candidate Biswajit Daimary, BJP candidate for Mazbat constituency Jitu Kishan and Ashok Singhal of BJP contesting from Dhekiajuli.

Shah will finally meet BJP karyakartas at the Srimanta Madhabdev International auditorium in Guwahati before flying back to Kolkata the same day.
The Assembly elections in Assam will be held in three phases on March 27, April 1 and April 6. Counting of votes will take place on May 2 with rest of the states going to polls.
