GUWAHATI: With campaigning for the phase II polls in both Assam and West Bengal completed, attention has shifted to constituencies in these two states that will vote in the third phase.

Union Home minister Amit Shah and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will campaign for the third phase polls for the Assam assembly elections in the state today.

Amit Shah will address three rallies in -- Bijni, Hajo, and Sonapur in Dispur.

Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani, minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will also campaign for the third phase in the state.

On the other hand, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who was unable to reach Assam yesterday due to bad weather will campaign for the third phase elections in the state.

Irani will address rallies in Borkhetry, Gauripur and Dhubri constituencies.

Rahul will begin his day in Tarapur, Silchar, with his first meeting. He'll then head to Haflong for his second meeting at 1 p.m., followed by another meeting at 2.40 p.m. in Karbi Anglong.

The first phase of the Assam assembly elections was held on March 27 in a total of 47 constituencies under 12 districts in the Upper Assam.

The voting for the second phase of polls will be held on April 1, while the third phase will be held on April 6.

The counting of votes will take place on May 2.
