HAFONG: Union home minister Amit Shah is all set to visit Assam on December 26. According to reports, Shah is likely to discuss the upcoming Assembly elections in Assam, as well as seat-sharing with the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), the saffron party's ally in Assam.

According to reports in the media, Amit Shah is likely to meet Chief Ministers of the Northeast -- who are all affiliated to the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) -- and discuss some poll-related issues. He is also likely to discuss border issues with the Chief Ministers of the Northeast.

The union home minister will attend some government events during his visit to Assam.

Recently, Assam and Mizoram were caught in a boundary row and movement of trucks to Mizoram was stopped. The blockade was only lifted after the intervention of the Union Home Ministry.
