In what could be termed as a case of complete discrimination, an Assamese family was barred from entering a Kaziranga resort without the presence of a security personnel. A Facebook post by a Guwahati native Bibhash Das, who went to the resort along with his father on Friday, mentioned that a security personnel accompanied them at the resort because the management and security have strict instructions from the owners to prevent locals from visiting the resort, citing security and safety of their white-skinned guests.
The Facebook post, which immediately went viral, mentioned about locals not being given access to the resort-restaurant, as it could lead to a safety-issue for the Caucasian guests.
Bibhash Das who is based in Delhi and a native of Assam mentioned that he just wanted to highlight the plight of the local people of Assam who is being discriminated by outsiders. The resort owned by a Gujarati businessman raised eyebrows how could someone prevent a son of the soil from entering the resort without the presence of a police personnel. It is indeed a matter of concern for the whole Assamese fraternity as to how could a businessman could frame conditions for the local people of Assam?
