A huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from a train in Dibrugarh district of Assam. The arms and ammunition were recovered from Amritsar Express. During the cleaning of train, the safari workers spotted two abandoned bags from below the seat of a general compartment who intimated the Railway Protection Force (RPF) immediately after spotting the arms and ammunition. It included 264 rounds of live ammunition including 147 rounds of AK 47 ammunition, one 9 mm pistol and some parts of revolvers and single-barrel guns. It was a general compartment and so the particular seat was not allotted to any particular individual.
