Assam: BSF apprehends 2 Indian cow smugglers along with cattle heads

 In two separate operations, alert troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force apprehended 02 Indian cattle smugglers along with 18 cattle heads from bordering area of village Kaleralga, PS– Kharuabandha and village Old Chowkichar, PS- Sukhchar, Distt –South Salamara (Assam) on intervening night of 21/22 July 2020.

Acting on a tip-off, on 22 July 2020 at about 0530 hrs, vigilant BSF troops of Border Out Post (BOP) Sishumara and Boreralga of 06 Bn BSF carried out a joint operation in the riverine area of Indo-Bangladesh International border. Joint operation party observed suspicious movement of miscreants, on being challenged them, the miscreants tried to flee away from the spot. BSF troops showing a high level of alertness and apprehended 01 Indian cattle smuggler along with 05 cattle heads after hot pursuit, while cattle heads were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended cattle smuggler identified as Samiyal Haque (38 Yrs), S/O Tamser Ali, R/o-Chinguchar, PO. Purana Diara, PS-Kharwabanda, Distt- South Salamara (Assam). Apprehended cattle smuggler along with seized cattle heads have been handed over to PS- Kharuabandha, Distt – South Salamara (Assam) for further legal action.

Acting on a tip-off, on 21 July 2020 at about 2115 hrs, vigilant BSF troops of Border Out Post (BOP) Chowkichar of 41 Bn BSF BSF observed a suspicious movement of miscreants on Indo-Bangladesh International Border, on being challenged them, the miscreants tried to flee away from the spot by taking advantage of darkness. Alerted BSF troops apprehended 01 Indian cattle smuggler along with 13 cattle heads after hot pursuit, while cattle heads were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended cattle smuggler identified as Abdul Hai, (45 Yrs), S/o Sukur ali, R/o Boilachar, PS & Distt -Dhubri (Assam). Apprehended smuggler along with seized cattle have been handed over to PS-Sukhchar, Distt – South salamara (Assam) for further legal action.

Besides, BSF troops of Guwahati Frontier in different operations launched in bordering area near Assam have seized 75 cattle heads, 34 bottles of Phensedyl and 08 Kg Ganja, which were trying to be smuggled from India to Bangladesh.

Keeping in view the vulnerability of border, heightened activities of the smugglers and anti-national elements on the border, BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes & illegal infiltration and are making all out efforts to prevent commission of such crimes.
