Ranjan Bikash Bogohain, an Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) leader from Moran town in Assam's Dibrugarh district, has been arrested by the authorities in Arunachal Pradesh.
A wireless message was relayed to the Moran Police station in Dibrugarh by the Itanagar police, informing the same. However, it is yet to be learnt why the senior AGP leader has been arrested by the police in Arunachal.
It is to be mentioned here that the same AGP leader had been arrested in New Delhi after attempting to extort money from a politician. He was arrested when he went to Delhi to collect the money, and had subsequently been sent to Tihar jail for his crime.
In Moran, Ranjan Bikash Bogohain, was in charge of recruiting members for the Asom Gana Parishad party, which also happens to be Assam's largest regional party.
