Assam: 3 more Corona positive cases as tally extends to 100

3 more Assam corona positive cases have been detected in Guwahati. Two of the patients came from Mumbai while one arrived from Bihar. The state tally for covid19 patients has crossed a century.

On a positive side, all the three are lodged in Sarusajai quarantine centre.

The Assam corona tally has reached 55 active cases with 41 recovered patients. There are 2 migrated patients as well along with 2 deaths.

Taking stock of the matter, Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted

On May 16, four cases - two from Guwahati and one each from Sonitpur and Sivasagar district - were reported in the state while one 9-year-old was tested positive in Assam's Jorhat district. In the evening, one 28-year-old person, who had arrived from Chennai, tested positive for coronavirus In Cachar district. He has been sent to Silchar Medicl College and Hospital.

Meanwhile, coronavirus has infected over 90,000 people and claimed over 2500 lives so far. With this India has surpassed China's official figure of 82,933 confirmed coronavirus cases.

In Northeast India: Tripura has the highest number of covid19 cases followed by Assam. Sikkim so far has 0 home cases.

Meanwhile, A 9-year-old boy has been tested positive for COVID-19 taking the total to 96 in Assam in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.

The baby, hails from Upper Assam’s Jorhat district, has been sent to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
