Assam Rifles and police on April 27 jointly apprehended two active cadres of Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (Reformation) near Ramgaizang village in Cachar district of Assam.
Based on input, the joint team launched an operation and apprehended two cadres from the area adjoining the village. The apprehended cadres have been identified as David Jeme, 20, and Insalung, 37. While David is a resident of Narimbanglo village in Dima Hasao district of Assam, the latter is a resident of the and Tousem village under the Tamenglong district of Manipur.

Additionally, the team of personnel also recovered one factory made .22 Pistol with one live round of ammunition, one magazine and five detonators.
During interrogation, they confessed that they are both active cadres of the NSCN (R). David Jeme joint NSCN (R) in February of 2019 and Insalung joined NSCN (R) in July, 2018.
According to officials, both individuals are involved in extortion and "extremist" activities in bordering areas of Cachar with Tamenglong District of Manipur.
Accordingly, a case has been registered at the Jirighat Polica Station under case No. 35/2020 U/S 121/121-A/387 IPC R/W Sec. 25(1-A) Arms Act R/W Sec 10/13 UA(P) Act R/W sec 5 of the Explosive Substances Act.
