Assam: 23 Athletes Headed to Arunachal Football Tourney Injured in Margherita Vehicle Collision

Margherita, October 18, 2019:

A vehicle carrying 25 sportspersons collided with another vehicle at 6 Mile Jagun under Margherita Constituency injuring 23 while three others suffered critical injuries.

A Mahendra Supro Pick-up vehicle bearing registration number AS- 23- CC-3512 picked up 25 sportspersons from Ledo. The sportspersons were associated with Kriya Bharati Ledo and were on their way to participate at a Football tournament at Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh.

Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle lost control and at 6 Mile Jagun, the vehicle collided, injuring 23 of the sportspersons.

Locals of 6 Mile Jagun immediately took all the injured sportspersons to Jagun Mini Health Centre for treatment.

The doctor referred all the injured sportspersons to Margherita Civil Hospital. Among them, three were in critical condition. They have been rushed to Dibrugarh Medical College for better treatment.
