Four more COVID-19 patients have been released in Assam after they tested negative for a fourth successive time. The four latest cases were released from the Golaghat Civil Hospital in the COVID-19 "red zone" district.
Note: Apart from Golaghat, the other red-zone districts are Nalbari, Dhubri, Goalpara, and Morigaon.
Earlier, 2 from Sonapur District Hospital and 3 from Goalpara Civil Hospital were released as they had tested COVID19 negative. The state has so far reported a single death due to complications from the virus.
The four patients who were released today have been identified as Haidor Ali, Wahida Begum, Yakub Ali and Ruma Begum. Assam Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who himself monitored the discharge of the patients, tweeted about the development.
Meanwhile, despite Government talks of lessening the restrictions post April 20, cases of the COVID-19 are still being registered in the state, and the tally of positive cases has now risen to 34.
It may be mentioned here that the two latest positive cases are both from Morigaon district, and the Government has said that they are the secondary contacts of the Tablighi Jamaat attendees.
